A Radiology Director oversees the entirety of the Radiology department at their facility, including both equipment and staff. Careers in radiology vary, but to be a solid applicant for radiology manager jobs it’s essential to have long-term work experience in the field.
Those in Radiology Director positions schedule equipment maintenance, ensure safety protocols are followed, manage staff budgets, and certify regulations and accreditations are met.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the department of radiology including routine practices, technology, and standards
- Previous management or administrative experience in a similar setting
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a field applicable to radiology
- 7-10 years of experience in Radiology, preferably with 3-5 years in leadership
- Have an active ARRT certification and any other licensure needed for the state of employment
